From Rail to Ride
We didn't set out to revolutionize cycling for older adults. We started with a simple observation: the converted Waterford Suir Valley rail line sat underutilized, and pensioners in the region were craving accessible outdoor activities. It's a flat route, well-maintained, and steeped in history. Perfect for riders who want scenery without struggle.
Theeternaverse Ltd launched in 2017 because we saw a gap. Most cycling groups didn't cater to the 60+ demographic with the respect and practical support it deserves. We've built our entire approach around what actually works—smooth surfaces, manageable distances, and routes that tell stories about Ireland's industrial heritage. We're not pushing speed or competition. We're delivering accessible adventure.
Today we run regular guided rides along the Piltown route, manage bike maintenance clinics, and work with local communities to expand access. Over 300 pensioners have cycled with us since we began. That's not a metric we trumpet loudly—it's simply what happens when you build something for real people with real needs.
